Getting Your Home Up
- Financing (starting point) – know what’s available to you
- Land – we can help in this department, we have 2 parcels for sale
- Home design & Site planning – what you can afford/finance/use
- Permits, Testing, Insurances – building permits, perk tests, general liability, workers’ compensation, etc
- Land Clearing – remove trees, shrubs, etc.
- Excavation – foundation, driveway, septic, electric trench, etc.
- Home Construction – erect your design on the site as planned
- Certificate of Occupancy – move in
Time
There could be months between each item above to be completed. For instance, financing takes 2-3 months to secure, home designs usually take 2 - 3 revisions and construction takes 2 - 6 months depending on the building method, etc.
Knowing that time is needed to take care of these issues will help alleviate some of the stress that is inherent with building a new home.
